When a gate, fence, shed, locker, storage unit, or job box needs controlled access, a keyless lock can make day-to-day use simpler, especially in shared spaces. The 1177D is designed for settings where outdoor exposure, dirt, and attempts at physical entry are practical concerns. Its resettable code lets the person managing access change the combination without using a special reset tool.

What is the Master Lock 1177D designed to secure?

The Master Lock 1177D is made for securing gates, fences, sheds, storage units, job boxes, lockers, and shared access areas. Its shrouded body helps shield the shackle from physical attack, while the deadlocking mechanism helps resist prying, shimming, and rap attacks. This combination of features is intended for commercial, industrial, and outdoor use where a lock may face regular handling and rough conditions.

• Use it for access points and storage such as gates, fences, sheds, and job boxes.
• The 2-1/4 in. (5.7 cm) body width is the overall width of the lock body.

How does the combination and reset work?

The Master Lock 1177D uses a resettable 4-digit combination, with 10,000 possible codes, and can be reset without a special tool. Set a combination for the people who need access, then update it when shared access changes. Because it opens by combination, users do not need to carry a key for the lock.

• Large ergonomic dials are designed for operation with gloves.
• The dials are also made for use in low light or complete darkness.

What protects the shackle and internal mechanism?

The Master Lock 1177D pairs an octagonal boron-carbide shackle with a shrouded body and a deadlocking mechanism. The shackle measures 1-1/16 in. (2.7 cm) tall and 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) in diameter; its boron-carbide construction provides twice the cut resistance of standard hardened shackles. For outdoor exposure, a dial dust cover and shackle seals help limit dust, dirt, and grit entering the mechanism.

• The shrouded design helps reduce exposure of the shackle to physical attacks.
• The deadlocking mechanism helps guard against prying, shimming, and rap attacks.

The Master Lock 1177D suits people managing access to outdoor fixtures, work areas, and shared storage who want a changeable code and do not want to rely on carrying a key. Its combination entry, cut-resistant shackle, and features designed for dusty outdoor conditions make it a practical fit for routine use in demanding settings. It is a combination padlock for controlled access to gates, storage, and other suitable lock points.
