For kitchen cleanup, a trash can needs to be accessible without taking up unnecessary room or making routine disposal feel cumbersome. This rectangular step can is made for placement against a wall, hands-free opening by foot, and chores that may require the lid to stay open. Its capacity is 50 liters / 13.0 gallons.

Can it sit close to a kitchen wall?

Yes. The internal hinge allows the can to be placed directly against the wall, while its rectangular shape makes efficient use of floor space. The steel pedal is engineered for over 150,000 steps—more than 20 steps a day for 20 years. Its built-in wheels make the 50-liter can easier to move when you need to reposition it.

• The brushed stainless steel has a fingerprint-proof finish that resists smudges.
• Rubber pads on the non-skid base help keep the can steady and are gentle on floors.

How does the lid work during everyday use?

Step on the pedal to open the lid, and patented lid shox technology controls its movement for a slow, silent close. When a task takes longer, the lid stays open for as long as you need it to. This gives you hands-free access for routine disposal as well as extended kitchen chores.

• The steel pedal is designed for repeated stepping.
• The stay-open lid can remain open during longer cleanup tasks.

How do the liner and inner bucket make bag changes easier?

simplehuman code Q liners are custom-fit for this can, staying in place without bunching and hidden from view. Their extra-thick plastic and double-seam construction are designed to help prevent rips and tears. For a bag change, lift the inner bucket a few inches, tilt it toward you, and rest it in the bucket park position.

• The removable inner bucket catches messy drips and lifts out for cleaning.
• Code Q liners are designed to fit this can without slipping.

This can suits households looking for a wall-friendly kitchen bin with foot-pedal access, a lid that can stay open during longer chores, and features for moving and changing the bag. Its rectangular 50-liter / 13.0-gallon design brings those functions together in a brushed stainless steel step can.
