Kitchen waste can be a constant part of meal preparation, cleanup and putting groceries away. This step can is made for those everyday routines, combining foot-pedal access with a lid that can be secured or kept open when a task takes longer. Its semi-round shape is designed to make use of wall-side space while leaving the rounded front accessible.

How does the semi-round shape fit in a kitchen?

The can has a flat back that sits flush against a wall and a rounded front that provides access to its 50 L (13-gallon) capacity. This shape is intended to keep the bin close to the wall and out of foot traffic without blocking access from the front. The black body is made with 75% post-consumer recycled plastic.

• Suitable for everyday kitchen waste and busy kitchen routines.
• The flat-back, rounded-front design combines wall-side placement with front access.

How do the pedal and lid work?

A steel pedal opens the lid, while patented Lid Shox® technology controls its movement for a slow, silent close. The pedal is engineered for 150,000 steps—more than 20 steps a day for 20 years. For longer tasks, the lid stays open hands-free, and a built-in wall bumper protects the wall as the lid swings open.

• A slide lock holds the lid closed against curious pets and children.
• Hands-free open-lid access is useful during meal preparation and while unloading groceries.

Which liners fit this trash can?

simplehuman Code P custom-fit liners are tailored for this can. Their extra-thick construction and double seams are designed to prevent bunching and slipping, helping the liner sit neatly inside the bin without messy bag overhang.

• The can is backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty.
• Code P is the specified liner style for this can.
