Their solid steel core is the construction behind the warm tone offered in this affordable steel-core design. Quick bow response and ease of use make the set a choice for student violinists, including both beginners and more experienced students.

What size and tension is this set?

This D'Addario Prelude set is made for a 4/4 scale violin and has medium tension. Match the 4/4 scale to the violin before choosing this set; Prelude strings are also offered in fractional sizes across the wider line, but this specific set is the full-size option.

The scale identifies the violin size the strings are intended for, while medium tension identifies the tension of this particular set. These details help distinguish it from other Prelude size options. The product title identifies it as a violin string set; no additional string count or included accessories are specified here.

• Scale: 4/4.
• Tension: medium.
• Prelude line options include full and fractional sizes for students of different ages.
