BioBag 3-Gallon Compostable Food Scrap Bags, 100 Count, BPI Certified

BioBag 3-gallon compostable food scrap bags collect kitchen scraps for composting, with BPI certification to ASTM D6400 and a size designed to fit most countertop compost pails.

• 100 bags in four rolls of 25 — a ready supply for regular kitchen scrap collection.
• BPI certified to meet ASTM D6400 — certified for composting in facilities that accept compostable bags.
• Made from plants, vegetable oils and compostable polymers — designed for food scraps and other small compostable waste.
• Naturally breathable material — moisture can escape, helping scraps dry and reducing odor-causing debris.
• Made in the USA with resin sourced from Italy — BioBag focuses exclusively on certified compostable bags and films.

These liners are made for gathering food scraps and other kitchen waste before it goes to a home, municipal or community composting program. Their 3-gallon (11.4 L) size suits most countertop compost pails, while the breathable film is intended to help manage moisture during collection. For composting after collection, use them in a green or brown cart only where the local program accepts compostable plastics.

What can I collect in BioBag food scrap bags?

Use BioBag bags to collect food waste, paper and other small compostable items in the kitchen. They are intended for conventional food-waste collection rather than long-term storage; the bags are durable enough for this purpose but are not designed to last indefinitely. Composting can help return organic material to soil and reduce the amount of waste sent for disposal.

• Suitable for collecting scraps for home, municipal and community composting.
• Approved for green and brown carts in communities that accept compostable plastics.
• BioBag is a leading global supplier focused on producing certified compostable bags and films.

Will these bags fit my countertop compost pail?

The 3-gallon size is designed to fit most kitchen countertop compost pails. Compare your pail’s capacity with the bag size when choosing a liner, since the product is sized for countertop collection rather than larger household bins. When used with a ventilated bin, the bag’s breathability supports moisture evaporation as scraps collect.

• Each bag has certified-compostable wording and the BPI logo printed on it.
• BioBag products are Non-GMO Project Verified for meeting the project’s criteria for GMO avoidance.
• The product complies with California SB 1972 and other state and local laws for products labeled compostable.

How should I store and change the bags?

Store BioBag bags in a cool, dry place away from excessive heat, and use them within one year of purchase. The recommended change interval is every 3–5 days. Condensation may form if a bag is used in a closed container, so a ventilated bin is the suggested pairing for food-scrap collection.

• Refrigerator or freezer storage is an option for keeping unused bags cool.
• The BPI certification is #891053 and confirms compliance with ASTM D6400.
• ASTM D6400 requires compostable products to decompose in a composting setting within a specified timeframe, leaving no harmful residues; it is the North American equivalent of EN 13432.
