Safety 1st OutSmart Flex Lock Cabinet Locks, White 4-Pack with Decoy Button

Safety 1st OutSmart™ Flex Lock is a cabinet lock designed to help keep curious children out of cabinets at home.

• First-ever decoy button — gives little hands a button to push that does not release the lock.
• Flexible surface conceals the functional buttons — keeps the opening mechanism out of plain sight.
• Adjustable straps fit cabinet hardware up to 8 inches (20.32 cm) apart — lets you customize the fit.
• Works with knobs and handle pulls — suits two common cabinet-hardware styles.
• Four locks in white — provides a set for multiple cabinets.

Cabinet access can draw a curious toddler’s attention, so this lock is made to add a physical barrier while keeping the opening action less obvious to a child. Its decoy-button design gives children something visible to try, while the actual release controls are concealed beneath the flexible surface. Use it on cabinets fitted with knobs or handle pulls, and adjust the straps to suit the spacing of the hardware.

How does the decoy-button design work?

The prominent decoy button can be pushed by a child, but pressing it has no effect on the lock. The flexible surface hides the functional buttons in plain sight, creating a difference between the button a child notices and the controls that open the lock. In side-by-side comparisons involving real toddlers and in mechanical pull-force lab testing, OutSmart Flex Lock outperformed leading competitors.

• The decoy button is for distraction; it does not operate the lock.
• Functional buttons sit beneath the flexible surface.

Which cabinet knobs and pulls can it fit?

The adjustable straps fit cabinet hardware spaced up to 8 inches (20.32 cm) apart, including knobs and handle pulls. Adjust the straps to match the distance between the hardware on the cabinet you plan to secure. This gives the lock a customized fit across either of these hardware styles.

• Suitable for cabinet knobs.
• Suitable for cabinet handle pulls.
• Use the hardware spacing as the fit measurement.

Does installation require drilling, and what happens when the lock is not in use?

No drilling is required to install the lock. When you do not need it in place, it can hang out of the way while remaining nearby for later use. The four-pack contains four white Safety 1st OutSmart™ Flex Locks for use on cabinets around the home.

• Installation is designed to be easy and requires no drilling.
• The lock hangs conveniently aside during periods of non-use.

Safety 1st OutSmart™ Flex Lock is suited to caregivers looking to restrict a curious toddler’s access to cabinets with knobs or handle pulls, especially when a visible decoy button and concealed release controls suit their needs. Its adjustable straps accommodate cabinet hardware up to 8 inches apart, and each four-pack includes four locks.
