How does the erasable ink work?

Friction from a FriXion eraser makes the thermosensitive ink disappear. You can write and erase repeatedly, making these pens useful for changeable notes and creative projects. Heat from erasing or another source can also make the ink colorless at temperatures above 140°F (60°C); color can be restored by cooling the page to at least 14°F (-10°C) in a freezer.
