How do Nothing Ear handle noise and calls?

Nothing Ear use hybrid ANC with adaptive noise cancellation and a smart algorithm, with noise reduction up to 45 dB. The earbuds check for noise leakage and adjust cancellation accordingly; the ANC frequency-range specification is 5,000 Hz. For calls, each earbud has three microphones, giving the pair six microphones in total, with voice pickup technology designed to separate speech from everyday background noise.

Supported codecs are LHDC 5.0, LDAC, AAC and SBC; LHDC and LDAC playback features require a compatible device.

With LHDC 5.0, supported streaming reaches up to 1 Mbps at 24-bit/192 kHz. LDAC supports up to 990 kbps at up to 24-bit/96 kHz. Dynamic Bass Boost, Advanced EQ tuning with profile sharing and a personal sound profile using the Mimi test let you adjust your listening. The brand also claims ANC is 1.8 times stronger than others and that Nothing Ear last 25% longer on a single charge than Ear (2).

How long do the earbuds last, and how do they charge?

Music playback reaches up to 8.5 hours on the earbuds with ANC off and 40.5 hours total with the charging case. Each earbud has a 46 mAh battery, and the case has a 500 mAh battery. Actual playback time depends on whether ANC is on and whether you are listening to music or making calls.

For calls, battery life is up to 5 hours on the earbuds or 23 hours with the case when ANC is off. A 10-minute fast charge with ANC off provides up to 2.6 hours on the earbuds alone or 10 hours with the case; with ANC on, the corresponding figures are 1.5 hours and 5 hours. Charging uses USB Type-C, and wireless charging is supported up to 2.5 W but is not Qi-certified. Reverse charging works with compatible devices, such as Phone (2).
