Small pools need regular chlorination to keep water clean and manage algae, while sunlight can shorten the useful life of chlorine. XtraBlue tablets combine pool chlorination with a stabilizer and water conditioners, making them suited to small-pool care. They also address concerns about equipment corrosion, scale, and stains as part of the pool-cleaning routine.

What do XtraBlue tablets do for pool water?

These chlorinating tablets kill harmful bacteria and kill and prevent all types of swimming pool algae. Their algae coverage includes varieties that can affect pool water in different ways, rather than focusing on only one type.

• Green algae
• Mustard algae
• Black algae

The formula also helps prevent equipment corrosion, scale, and stains. For pool owners, that means the tablet’s role includes both water care and helping protect pool equipment and surfaces from these issues.

How do the stabilizer and conditioners support pool care?

A chlorine stabilizer helps extend the life of the clean in sunlight, while conditioners are included to create silky-smooth-feeling water. These features combine sunlight protection and a water-feel benefit in the same chlorinating tablet.

• Tablet size: 1 inch (2.54 cm).
• Package quantity: 5 lb (2.27 kg).

Can I use these tablets with my pool surface?

Yes. XtraBlue tablets are suitable for swimming pools with vinyl, plaster, fiberglass, and tile surfaces. That makes them an option for small pools with any of these listed finishes.

• Vinyl pool surfaces
• Plaster pool surfaces
• Fiberglass pool surfaces
• Tile pool surfaces

The Clorox Pool App can help you test pool water, address common swimming pool problems, and get personalized product and dosage recommendations. It adds testing and care guidance alongside the tablets, so pool owners can use the app to inform their pool-care decisions.
