What training modes can I choose?

The Blackdog collar offers four adjustable modes: beep, vibration, Safe Shock, and strobe light. Its LCD screen shows the selected mode and battery level, so you can see the current setting and charge status on the remote.

• Beep levels: 1–8.
• Vibration levels: 1–16.
• Safe Shock levels: 1–99.
• A built-in hex tool lets you remove the prongs without a separate tool and switch to “NO-SHOCK” mode.

How does the collar help during night training?

The remote has a flashlight, and the collar has a separately activated strobe light. Use the remote beam to scan a dark trail or campsite, or turn on the collar light to make your dog easier to spot. The collar’s strobe can also help your dog locate you.

• The remote includes an ON/OFF safety button to help prevent accidental activation.
• The LCD provides a visible battery-level reading.

Will the strap fit my dog, and how long does the battery last?

The adjustable nylon strap fits dogs weighing 5–150 lbs, with a strap length adjustment from 8 to 25 inches. Battery life is up to 90 days on one charge when used for one hour per day, and USB-C fast charging takes two hours.

• The stated fit range covers small through large dogs.
• Charge the unit using USB-C; a full charge takes two hours.
• The battery-life estimate is based on one hour of use each day.

Is this remote training collar made for wet and rugged conditions?

Yes. The Blackdog collar carries an IP67 waterproof rating for immersion up to 1 m for 30 minutes. Its reinforced casing is rated to withstand 500 lbs of crush force and more than 100,000 bite cycles, for use on muddy trails, in rain, and on outdoor expeditions.
