The bag holds up to 1.5 gallons at a time, roughly the volume of 11 bottles of 500 ml bottled water, and is designed to meet all-day outdoor drinking needs. The combination is intended for outdoor activities and first-aid survival situations, with connections that also let the straw work with water bottles.

What does the Waterdrop filter reduce?

The straw uses a five-stage filtration system with a 0.1-micron ultrafiltration membrane. It is designed to reduce chlorine, particulates, sediment, stones, sand, dirt, and unwanted taste and odor in water. This filtration approach is intended to improve the drinking experience by addressing both visible particles and taste- or odor-related concerns.

The combination of the membrane and other filtration materials makes the straw suitable for outdoor water use where water may contain sediment or particles. It filters water as part of the connected drinking setup, rather than serving as a storage container on its own.

0.1-micron ultrafiltration membrane.

Five filtration stages.

Reduces the listed substances and taste and odor concerns.

How do the gravity bag and filter straw work together?

The included gravity-fed water bag holds up to 1.5 gallons, approximately the volume of 11 500 ml bottles. Connect the straw to the bag to filter water for drinking; the bag’s capacity is intended to support all-day water needs during outdoor use. Both ends of the straw can be detached and connected to water bags or water bottles, so the setup can be adapted to either type of container.

The straw can also connect directly to a water bottle for filtering water to drink. For bottle compatibility, the product data gives a 27.5 mm thread diameter for the bottle used to backwash the straw. This measurement is particularly relevant when choosing a bottle for the cleaning method.

Gravity-fed bag capacity: 1.5 gallons.

Water-bag and water-bottle connections.

27.5 mm bottle thread diameter for backwashing.

How do you clean the straw and maintain its flow?

If water flow decreases, remove the mouthpiece and flush the straw with clean water to backwash it. A standard water bag can be used for this process, or clean water can be placed in a pop bottle with a 27.5 mm thread diameter and used to backwash the filter straw. The backwash function is designed to keep the inside of the straw clean and support continued use.

The filter straw is described as recyclable. Its maximum flow rate is up to 700 ml per minute, and its stated filtration lifespan is up to 1,400 gallons (5,300 liters). These capacity and flow figures help set expectations for longer outdoor outings and repeated use; actual flow can decrease, which is when the backwashing procedure is provided.

Remove the mouthpiece before flushing.

Use clean water from a water bag or a compatible 27.5 mm-thread bottle to backwash.

Recyclable straw design.

Waterdrop Gravity Water Filter Straw suits campers, outdoor users, and people preparing for first-aid survival situations who want a filter that connects to a gravity-fed bag or water bottle.
